A New Moon in Sagittarius always feels right to me. A zodiac sign so ready for the adventures of the unknown and a new moon cycle bringing us just that. While change and the unknown can be intimidating for many of us, there is no need to worry now. Welcome in the positive changes that you have long been manifesting.
The 8 of Pentacles depicts a person deeply focused on their work of carving 5-pointed pentacles onto gold coins. 5 coins they hung up on a tree, 2 coins they have yet to hang, and they are currently working on the last one. This talks of creating success on Earth, and how your focus, consistency, and determination will soon lead to your anticipated results. Keep up your work with a pure heart. It takes time for our seeds to become a fully blossomed garden. Don’t let the lack of immediate obvious results deter you. Have faith that your work is meaningful.
Following this card is the 5 of Swords. Once again, the number 5 is speaking to us of change, travel, transformation, movement. Swords is connected to the element of air, or the mind. We have overcome many obstacles, both internally and externally, haven’t we? And we used our minds as a tool to do it, instead of letting neg. thoughts and status-quo-think control us. Feels good to take this win. However, who and what did we have to leave behind to get here? Take a minute to pause on your long journey. There may be some things that need to be revisited before we move forward. Drop those heavy bags, acknowledge its contents and take what you need.
Lastly, bring in The Hierophant reversed. The Hierophant is our judgement. Sometimes we are the judge, and sometimes we are being judged. Let’s look at our own judgements. It may be possible that our current views are slightly off base from the truths of reality. On the New Moon, journaling can give you insight into what we have been holding onto, what we are looking to let go of, and what we are looking to obtain. The Hierophant reversed tells us that what we have been holding on to is not serving us anymore. If your mindset is on what you’re lacking, or what you don’t want, switch it to what you have and how that can attract what you do want. If you’re scrolling through social media accounts as a regular past time, think about how that may affect the movement in your life. There are so many small things that we do that affect our view of the world. Become more aware of what they are.
Now, ride out this last day of Mercury Retrograde at ease knowing you have made it through blessed up. Yes, there is always self-work to be done, and give thanks for the cycles of the moon that help us do just that. Take a breath and join us for the new day (and soon the new year), refreshed. And trust in the work of your spiritual team; you’re not the only one rooting for you.
